The Forum Theatre Arts Center
This historic center has been providing entertainment since 1928, with only a short closing for restoration in the late 2000s. It’s now a regarded art-house movie theater that features indie, foreign, and classic films, each projected on 35mm prints—a true film buff’s favorite.
Millburn Deli
Deliciousness abounds at the famous Millburn Deli, serving excellent sandwiches since 1946. Hailed by The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal (among others), Millburn Deli is beloved by both locals and out-of-town visitors. If you find yourself there, try the Gobbler! You won’t regret it!
Plays at Roosevelt Park
One of the many expansive parks in the New Jersey area, Roosevelt Park in Middlesex features “Plays in the Park” from June to August. Roosevelt Park is a favorite in the Edison area, and with good reason. It’s spacious, clean, great for barbecues, tennis, basketball, running, and activities with kids.

The Burgdorff Center for The Performing Arts
This architectural beauty was deeded to the town of Maplewood, NJ, in 1988 by patron of the arts Jean T. Burgdorff. The 100-seat theatre is used for classes, performances, and private functions, and you can check out great plays here.
Hailey’s Harp & Pub
This wildly popular local Irish pub features incredible food, live music, and a friendly and homey atmosphere. They offer an impeccable craft beer selection which is dictated by the clientele, and there are weekly food specials. A true Metuchen favorite.
Thomas Edison Museum
This tiny but informative museum gives a fantastic insight into history and evolution of technology. Although it only has a couple of rooms, there are many original items and photos, and the tour staff is enthusiastic and does a great job. It’s a good place to visit for any fan of Edison or technology.
Metuchen Farmers Market
Featuring top-notch vendors, the Metuchen Farmers Market hosts four “Jersey Fresh” farmers and features a wide variety of mouth-watering foods. Here you can find free-range eggs, farmhouse baked pies, cheese, pickles, grass-fed pork, and much more. The variety of vegetables and fruits offered for sale every week is simply incredible.
