The Burgdorff Center for The Performing Arts

This architectural beauty was deeded to the town of Maplewood, NJ, in 1988 by patron of the arts Jean T. Burgdorff. The 100-seat theatre is used for classes, performances, and private functions, and you can check out great plays here.

Hailey’s Harp & Pub

This wildly popular local Irish pub features incredible food, live music, and a friendly and homey atmosphere. They offer an impeccable craft beer selection which is dictated by the clientele, and there are weekly food specials. A true Metuchen favorite.

Thomas Edison Museum

This tiny but informative museum gives a fantastic insight into history and evolution of technology. Although it only has a couple of rooms, there are many original items and photos, and the tour staff is enthusiastic and does a great job. It’s a good place to visit for any fan of Edison or technology.

Metuchen Farmers Market

Featuring top-notch vendors, the Metuchen Farmers Market hosts four “Jersey Fresh” farmers and features a wide variety of mouth-watering foods. Here you can find free-range eggs, farmhouse baked pies, cheese, pickles, grass-fed pork, and much more. The variety of vegetables and fruits offered for sale every week is simply incredible.
